Via ferratas were originally made to enable troops during the second world war to move quickly and safely through the Dolomites of Italy. These walk ways have now become a sub-sport in their own right. Offering a great day out in the mountains, where participants use cables, chains and ladders to move through very steep ground easily.

Wow what a day, scary at first but once I got the hang of it, immensely enjoyable I feel like a real mountaineer now.
